Acrylic and neon on ply board
1200 × 600 mm
Inspired by Twisted Frequency — Te Waipounamu’s underground New Year festival — this piece reflects the energy, community, and creativity of a week set deep in the Cobb Valley. Over the years, the festival has grown into a vibrant gathering of music, art, and expression, set within one of Aotearoa’s most striking landscapes.
This work captures that atmosphere through vivid colour and playful detail, including a lively party weka woven into the scene. By day, the composition feels energetic and immersive; under UV light, it transforms — revealing layered movement, shifting light, and a more electric presence.
A visual reflection of a week where art and music converge, “Twisted 22–23” brings that experience into a permanent form.
