Personal Story

I’m a New Zealand artist inspired by the quiet beauty of everyday moments, creating work that captures a sense of nostalgia and place.

My work is grounded in my connection to Aotearoa — its landscapes, its people, and the small, often overlooked moments that make it feel like home. Through my art, I aim to create something familiar and reflective, inviting viewers to slow down and connect with the world around them in a more meaningful way.

Process

My work is shaped by time spent observing and experiencing different places across New Zealand. Through travelling and immersing myself in these environments, I gather inspiration that later informs each piece.

I’m drawn to scenes that hold a sense of stillness, connection, and atmosphere — moments that feel both personal and shared. Each work becomes a reflection of those experiences, translated into something visual.

Connection to Place

My connection to Aotearoa is central to my work, both in subject and approach.

While I deeply value my connection to Māori culture, I approach this with sensitivity and respect. My journey is one of ongoing learning, guided by an awareness of tikanga and cultural protocols.

My work reflects this relationship — not by trying to represent or interpret culture directly, but by acknowledging the land and the people it belongs to, and my place within that.
