Looking for something more personal?
Carrie creates commissioned artworks inspired by meaningful places, memories, landscapes, and stories from across Aotearoa. From family land and favourite coastlines to treasured birds, homes, and personal histories, each piece is developed in close collaboration with the client and approached with care, connection, and artistic interpretation.
For selected projects, Carrie can also work on location throughout New Zealand, developing artworks directly within the landscapes that inspire them.
Every commissioned artwork begins with a conversation — a shared starting point where your ideas, memories, places, and stories can begin to take shape.
Commission Process
-
Begin by reaching out via the contact form or email on my website. Tell me about your vision, any reference images, and your ideal timeline. If you need to refine your ideas, I’m happy to have follow-up discussions before finalising the concept. I’ll get back to you within a few days to discuss your ideas further.
-
Once I receive your enquiry, we’ll have a detailed conversation to explore your vision. We’ll discuss your ideas, colour palettes, size, and any special elements. I have a mobile studio, so I can travel anywhere in Aotearoa to build that real, deep connection with the whenua, the land, and the space—ensuring a genuine, authentic bond. I’ll offer my professional input, and together we’ll refine the concept. This discussion phase typically takes between three to eight weeks, depending on the scope and complexity. Once we’re aligned, I’ll provide a detailed quote, and we’ll move into the payment step.
-
Once we’ve confirmed the concept, a 50% deposit will be required to begin. I’ll start the painting and keep you updated. Once it’s done, I’ll send you final photos, and the balance will be due before delivery.
-
Once the painting is finished, I’ll share high-quality photos with you for approval. If you prefer, you can keep it as a surprise, and I’ll deliver the final piece without previewing it. Once the remaining balance is paid, I’ll arrange delivery or pickup. I take great care in packaging to ensure your artwork arrives safely, and if you’re local, we can even arrange a personal handover to celebrate the finished piece.
F A Q’s
-
You can commission a wide range of original artworks, including landscapes, custom paintings, and space-specific pieces in various sizes and styles. If you have a specific vision—like a favourite place, theme, or color palette—just reach out, and we’ll work together to bring it to life.
-
The cost of a commission depends on the size, complexity, and medium of the piece. After we discuss your ideas, I’ll provide a personalised quote, and this will include any potential travel costs if I need to visit a specific location.
-
Payment is split into two parts: a 50% deposit is required before I begin, and the remaining balance is due upon completion, before delivery. I accept bank transfers, and we can discuss other options if needed.
-
If the final piece isn’t exactly what you expected, I’m happy to discuss revisions. After we review your feedback, I can adjust the artwork within the agreed scope. My goal is to make sure you’re completely happy with the result.
-
Yes, I can paint anywhere. Just let me know the location you have in mind, and we’ll discuss the details, including any costs and logistics involved.
-
Availability for commission bookings varies, so I recommend reaching out as early as possible. Once we confirm the project, I’ll let you know the next available slot. The entire process usually takes between three to eight weeks, depending on the scope and complexity.
