Big Job

Big Job

Acrylic on 30cm panel board

A quiet, intimate moment—a bee at rest, suspended in stillness.

  • This piece was created during a time that called for slowing down. A gentle walk with my husband, then using a temporary wheelchair, shifted my perspective—bringing attention to care, presence, and the pace at which we move through the world.

The image of a sleeping bee became a natural expression of that moment. In contrast to their usual constant movement, this pause felt significant—quiet, necessary, and grounding.

The work reflects on rest as something essential rather than incidental. A small moment of stillness, held within the wider rhythm of life.
